This position is supported by soft funding, with the current grant award scheduled to end on August 30, 2027.About this PositionUsing the principles of Total Quality Management, ensure effective and efficient management of all programmatic aspects of the Upward Bound Project. Ensure effective and efficient management of all administrative aspects of the Upward Bound Program. Work weekly with individual students and parents in assigned target schools. Ensure compliance with guidelines required by the U.S. Department of Education and Oklahoma State University accounting policies in conducting and reporting grant activities. Requires frequent evening and weekend work, both at OSU and in target communities to provide services and times appropriate for program participants and their families; often averaging higher than 40 hours per week. Six-week summer residential program requires additional hours, both during the workday as well as evenings and/or weekends.Required QualificationsBachelor's Community Counseling, Sociology, or Psychology (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)5 years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for years of experience. Active in the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (OSDA). Familiar with Regional Scholars. Involvement in the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE). Relationship with area colleges. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. TRiO experience or experience as an Upward Bound participant preferred.Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Valid driver's licenseSkills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Knowledge of academic needs of low-income, first-generation, and minority students. Knowledge of collegiate academic and financial aid procedures. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work under time pressure. Ability to demonstrate courtesy, tact, and discretion in communicating the goals and objectives of the project to the academic community. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Community Counseling, Educational Administration, or Human Development and Family ScienceLeadership or previous leadership in Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (OSDA). 2 years of experience at OSU preferred.
