McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a APEX Technology Support Engineer (Machine Control Technician). The Technology Support Engineer is responsible for the after-sale performance and technical support of all SmartGrade and integrated grade control equipped machines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority): Support construction sites for automated machine control and construction layout Support, diagnose and repair SmartGradeTM and related grade control issues. Communicate effectively with John Deere, General Manager and Territory Managers in your respective area to promote, demo train and sell SmartGradeTM machines. Complete & maintain all OEM and government certifications expected or required. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service. Education, Skills & Knowledge Preferred: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Technology, Marketing discipline, or equivalent experience is preferred. Proven track record using Topcon & Trimble Machine Control in construction projects. Experience in construction layout utilizing GNSS or Robotic Total Stations, including the interpretation of site blueprints and the implementation of construction workflows." Familiarity with Topcon, Trimble, and/or Lecia technologies Passion for technology and heavy equipment, with a drive to learn and stay current on industry advancements. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively train individuals and small groups on technical concepts and procedures. Willingness to travel within assigned territory (Up to 75%) AOR in Louisville, Owensboro and Evansville. Benefits: Expected earnings $80,000 - $150,000. $50,000-$65,000 Base wage + commission.
