Incumbents perform routine clerical, dispatching, patrolling, and monitoring work related to campus safety and security. Incumbents screen incoming emergency and non-emergency calls to determine location, nature of the call, gather information, and dispatch and assign appropriate personnel and resources to incidents. Essential Functions
Receive, screen, and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for service; work may involve questioning the caller and soliciting information; answering inquiries/complaints; sending out messages to appropriate units as needed; and sending emergency alerts to staff and students Dispatch appropriate personnel and resources to incidents; track calls and notifies appropriate individuals; make referral to the City, County, and other Police and emergency services as needed; and provide assistance and information to the caller and dispatched units Utilize lockdown security systems to ensure campus building safety; monitor and/or respond to cameras and fire, equipment, and other alarms, to ensure student, staff, and public safety; informs appropriate units of incidents or safety violations; and tracks fire and police radio frequencies to assess potential impact of local incidents on the campus Utilize online systems, software, and databases to perform information searches, and document and update information Enter, edit, and retrieve data District wide, Computer Aided Dispatch, Integrated Security System (CCURE), handles confidential and priority information gathered utilizing the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System, (MULES) Take office walk-in request for information, authorize and provide entrance to college property during and after regular business hours Documents all pertinent information relating to incidents on campus Initiate telephone notifications to various District officials in the event of emergencies or other critical incidents, as directed by on-duty personnel Advise, direct, and interpret emergency calls for service and initiate campus safety, police, fire and emergency medical response, as needed, to incidents Maintain location and status of units through CAD. Monthly test of Mass Outdoor Speaker System Monitor intrusion detection, emergency response, fire surveillance systems, mechanical alarms and direct appropriate personnel to respond as needed Operate multi-line telephone, two-way radio and recording systems. Serve as a point of contact for customers requesting service from the Police Department Serve as a point of contact for emergency maintenance requests, contacting and maintaining records of on-call facilities personnel Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
