Electrical Feature and Component Testing Manager
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a Manager for the Electrical Feature and Component Testing Team within the Electronic Development Department (EDD), part of the Electronic Systems Development (ESD) Division.
The Team: EDD focuses on designing and validating body electronic features and components for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
The Position: The Electrical Feature and Component Testing Manager will oversee the performance and validation of electrical systems and features in Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. Responsibilities include creating validation test plans and reports, and ensuring functional performance. Key duties involve:
Collaborating with stakeholders such as HMG R&D, suppliers, and quality departments.
Understanding system components and architecture.
Providing recommendations to enhance user experience (UX).
Applying troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Communicating effectively with management and SMEs.
What You Will Do:
Build and develop the section's team, resources, and project portfolio related to electrical features and components.
Align team goals with departmental strategy and drive their execution.
Develop and manage the section’s plans, strategies, and budgets.
Manage team members, including task assignments and evaluations.
Participate in resource planning, goal setting, and technology roadmap development.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
Establish and follow validation test processes and documentation standards.
Communicate clearly and effectively across the organization.
Conduct end-to-end feature validation based on Test Development Plans (TDPs).
Prepare and present reports and presentations on project status, advancements, and benchmarks.
Support design reviews, component requirement definitions, and specification conversions.
Address field and customer concerns post-launch to maintain expectations.
Participate in vehicle benchmarking activities with suppliers and R&D teams.
Contribute to cost-saving initiatives to improve revenue streams.
Provide technical support for pre- and post-production electronics issues.
Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
Develop relationships with R&D and technical experts.
Travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally.
What You Will Bring to the Role:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
10+ years of automotive engineering experience.
2+ years of management or project management experience.
Knowledge of ECU HW/SW design, vehicle architectures, network bus communication, DV/PV testing, supplier management, and vehicle development processes.
Familiarity with AUTOSAR specifications and CAN protocols.
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical systems.
Ability to create test plans and schedules.
Flexibility to accommodate late design changes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in electrical engineering.
Management experience related to electrical vehicle systems or features.
