Systems Modeling Engineer

to build one dimensional models of heat batteries and supporting systems. You will be responsible for coding, validating, optimizing, and using 1D models to enable controls development, inform product design, and optimize operation. What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to): Develop one-dimensional, transient models of heat battery components and assemble them into system models Validate your models with experimental data and higher order simulations such as CFD Interpret requirements from controls engineers and create hooks into physical models that enable controls development and hardware in the loop testing Analyze and interpret simulation results, providing insights and recommendations to optimize design and performance for internal customers in product design, applications engineering, marketing, quality, reliabilityetc. What You Will Bring: Bachelors or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 5+ years of experience in systems modeling with a proven ability to create models of various levels of complexity Strong expertise in heat transfer and thermodynamics Expertise with a range of software tools and languages such as Matlab, Simulink, and Python Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail in modeling and data interpretation Bonus Points! Digital Twin and HIL testing model creation Experience with radiation modeling in thermal simulations Background in modeling heat exchangers, particularly boilers Familiarity with air handling equipment modeling, including fans, louvers, and ductwork Knowledge of HVAC system simulations and airflow optimization What We Offer: Life Insurance and ADD Up to 13 paid holidays per year, in addition to a company week-long holiday in December Flexible time off policy Catered lunches on-site 401(k) plan with company match Rondo HQ is close to Oakland airport - one block from the Bay - and has stunning Bay views! The estimated annual salary range for this role is $145,000 to $175,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above pl us additi o nal compe nsation in the form of equity.
