Overview

We’re hiring a hands-on Lead Security Engineer to be the technical anchor for product and platform security. You’ll own the roadmap, roll up your sleeves, and partner with engineering to build secure-by-default systems in a fast-moving environment.

Base pay range

$185,000.00/yr - $265,000.00/yr

What you’ll do

• Own the security engineering roadmap across application, cloud, and endpoint layers.
• Embed security into the SDLC — code reviews, threat modeling, and guardrails in CI/CD.
• Design detections and response automations that reduce mean time to detect and remediate.
• Lead remediation of vulnerabilities with engineering teams and track closure to completion.
• Harden identity, access, secrets, and zero trust controls across cloud and SaaS.
• Stand up and tune SAST, SCA, DAST, IaC, and container scanning in build and deploy pipelines.
• Define security KPIs and runbooks. Drive continuous improvement with data.

Experience

• 7+ years in security engineering with recent experience as a lead or founding engineer.
• Proven experience building or maturing a security function at a startup or growth-stage company.
• Strong software background with proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Deep experience with cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern CI/CD.
• Hands-on with tools and patterns such as IaC, OAuth/OIDC, EDR, SIEM/SOAR, and secrets management.
• Clear communicator who can influence, document decisions, and ship pragmatic solutions.
• Experience achieving or maintaining SOC 2 or HITRUST while keeping developer velocity high.
• Background in threat modeling and building detections from product abuse cases.

Familiarity with runtime protections, RASP, and attack surface management for cloud-native stacks.
