David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a highly skilled Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager. This position can be located in Dallas/Fort Worth or College Station, TX, focusing on our Rail Market's Strategic Growth. The responsibilities include contributing to project management and business development efforts within our Transit and Rail Group. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with extensive experience and market expertise in multi-disciplinary transit and rail projects, playing a vital role from conceptualization to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Market Development:
Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, develop strategies to target new clients and projects.
Business Development:
Manage client relationships, sell DEA services, develop new business, and stay updated on industry trends.
Client Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships, lead contract negotiations, and serve as a primary contact.
Project Management:
Serve as principal-in-charge or project manager, monitor performance, coach team members, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Leadership and Mentoring:
Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth.
Team and Resource Leadership:
Oversee pursuit staffing, partner decisions, revenue forecasting, and profitability.
Other Duties:
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
At least 10 years of civil engineering design experience, especially in freight rail land development.
Experience with railroad industry standards and familiarity with design guidelines.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel periodically.
Experience with projects for BNSF, UPRR, CPKC, NS, or industry rail.
Proven success in project delivery and business growth.

Excellent organizational, technical writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage medium to large teams.

Located in Texas or nearby clients.
