Pay Information $2,435 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current state nursing license required Certifications: BLS-AHA, NIHSS required Must-Have: Must be able to pass EKG testing before the start date. Candidates should have previous experience in a busy Neuro Med/Surg unit. Description: This position requires working in a busy Neuro Med/Surg unit focused on patient care related to CVA/TIA, seizures, encephalopathy, and weakness. Nurses will be responsible for managing patients and collaborating with interdisciplinary support teams. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:7. The role includes occasional floating to other units or facilities within the healthcare system based on skill set. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend or twice per month. While on the unit, nurses must adhere to all policies and provide appropriate care to the patient population, including adults and geriatrics. Documentation is completed using an electronic medical record system. Candidates must not have any requests for time off during major holidays. This position offers an opportunity to work in a comprehensive stroke center. Candidates are required to have skills in the management of cerebrovascular accidents and interpretation of dysrhythmias. The unit provides specialized care and monitoring for neuro patients in an acute care settings.
