At Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, a 122-bed community hospital serving Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut, you will be part of an expert team providing personalized healthcare in a safe and comfortable environment.
Job Summary: As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, using ultrasound waves to produce quality images for our radiologists and physicians. You will work with patients of all ages, ensuring each is treated with individualized care. Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting ultrasound procedures by positioning patients, selecting appropriate transducers, and obtaining accurate images to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensuring optimal technical quality and adherence to the standards set by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and FDA.
- Assembling sterile trays and performing scrub duties as necessary.
- Accurately inputting data into electronic medical records and managing imaging data within RIS and PACS.
- Organizing and presenting processed images for physician interpretation.
- Consulting with physicians regarding image quality and data obtained.
- Reviewing patient information and physician orders to ensure accurate procedure execution and patient preparation.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this position, you should be a graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and possess the following credentials:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or RDMS certification, obtained prior to hire.
- Proficient in various ultrasound techniques, including real-time imaging, color flow, Doppler, transvaginal studies, biopsies, and interventional procedures.
