We are seeking a driven and organized Intermediate Project Manager to lead sustaining capital projects at our South Saint Paul rendering facility. The ideal candidate will manage a portfolio of small to mid-sized multidisciplinary projects that support plant reliability, compliance, safety, and performance improvement. At all times, the role must embody Sanimax's core values: collaboration, consideration, improvement, and integrity. This is a hands-on position, working closely with operations, maintenance, process, electrical/instrumentation, contractors, and external engineering firms to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage sustaining CAPEX projects from scope development to commissioning and closeout (typically $50k$2M).
- Collaborate with plant stakeholders to identify needs and develop project justifications.
- Prepare and manage Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents; follow internal Pre-AFE and Post-AFE project processes.
- Coordinate design, procurement, construction, and start-up activities.
- Ensure project compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
- Work with contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants to execute work efficiently; follow internal Projects RACI.
- Monitor project performance (cost, schedule, quality), report progress, and mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in project audits and lessons learned reviews.
- Monitor and communicate the status of the project regularly to all stakeholders.
- Create enthusiasm for the project and establish a collaborative work environment while holding team members accountable for the required results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 510 years of project management experience in industrial environments (food, rendering, chemical, manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and construction execution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a live plant setting.
- Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and communicating across levels.
- Familiarity with OSHA, environmental compliance, and process safety standards is an asset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, establish good interpersonal relationships and foster the development of high-performance teams.
Working Conditions
- Primarily plant-based with occasional travel to other facilities or suppliers.
- Must be comfortable in industrial and occasionally odorous environments.
- Some weekend or evening work may be required during shutdowns or commissioning phases.
