IT Event Support Technician
At the United Center, we bring excitement to life through sports, entertainment, and community. Home to the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and Chicago Blackhawks (NHL), we've welcomed over 70 million fans and host more than 200 events annually, from premier sporting events and concerts to family shows and special industry events. In the role as the IT Event Support Technician, you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus.
General Responsibilities:
Provide tier 1 support to IT, F&B, and Retail technology during United Center events, games, concerts, etc.
Specific Duties: (Include but not limited to)
- Cable management – including but not limited, network, power, and peripheral cabling.
- Termination, placement and maintenance of cable.
- Basic troubleshooting of point-of-sale and computer hardware/software.
- Replacing and set-up of point-of-sale and computer hardware
- Available to work nights, weekends or some holidays
- Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.
Physical Demands:
The individual may be required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, taste or smell for up to 1/3 of the shift and use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift.
Occasionally, the individual may be required to lift up to 75 -100 pounds, lifting a wide array of audio, video and computer apparatus.
Vision requirements: close, distance, color and focusing abilities.
Work Environment:
The individual may be required to work in a confined space, near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather) and vibration for up to 1/3 of the work shift, and be at risk of electrical shock for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift. The work environment contains a moderate noise level.
Education:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
Ability to work with specific computer software.
Familiarity with special terminology such as legal, medical or scientific terms.
The hourly rate for this role is $25 to $27. Compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications.
