Energy Storage O&M Site Manager
Location: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the Phoenix, AZ area)
This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP backed by private equity, focusing on the development and execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. The company has accumulated over 9GW+ of projects and is currently expanding rapidly.
This critical role involves working directly with the company's Corporate Asset Operations, EPC, and Construction teams, along with third-party contractors, to drive high-voltage field operations, including maintenance and testing activities for high-voltage electrical systems on utility-scale battery storage assets.
The position requires experience supporting technical engineering initiatives across multiple greenfield and brownfield renewable energy projects, specifically in facility maintenance, testing, and equipment repair. Responsibilities include managing on-site equipment plans with third-party providers and handling warranty processes. Experience with NERC asset management compliance and outage planning is HIGHLY desirable. Travel within the Phoenix, AZ area to support assets is REQUIRED.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support all high-voltage and electrical operations for utility-scale renewable energy assets.
Lead technical support for start-up, commissioning, testing, and engineering operations, including outage planning.
Manage NERC documentation, compliance issues, switching orders, outage planning, and LOTO procedures.
Provide support and emergency response for Balance of Plant operations regionally.
Lead BESS maintenance and compliance inspections.
Provide technical support for HV equipment such as grid-tied inverters, circuit breakers, relays, switchgears, and substations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4-6+ years of experience with HV electrical systems, including O&M, testing, field engineering, maintenance, or commissioning.
Management or leadership experience for supervisor roles.
Experience managing third-party contractors at utility-scale renewable sites with high-voltage systems.
Experience leading warranty management initiatives.
Knowledge of high-voltage substations, relay protection, collection, and transmission systems.
Skills in troubleshooting and repairing substation and renewable energy equipment.
Knowledge of testing procedures for grid-tied inverters, BESS/solar equipment, relays, switchgears, transformers, and circuit breakers.
Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams.
Familiarity with electrical SCADA systems.
Understanding of OSHA guidelines and LOTO procedures.
Relevant roles include O&M Site Manager, High Voltage Supervisor, Sr. Field Engineer, Substation Specialist, and related positions.
