Operational Technology Network Engineer
Network Engineer with expertise in Operational Technology (OT) environments that supports the network infrastructure for our Industrial Control Systems (ICS). The ideal candidate will have experience with routing, switching, wireless, and security. The role is part of our OT team that supports our Natural Gas and Electric utility systems. Location: Rapid City, South Dakota; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Lakewood, Colorado; Council Bluffs, Iowa Pay Range: $77,450 - $116,200 Annually Reporting Relationship: Network Engineering Manager Essential Functions: Design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure that supports our mission critical Industrial Control Systems (ICS). Support LAN and WAN hardware including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and access points, and IOT devices. Partner with utility business unit stakeholders to design and implement highly available, secure, and compliant network solutions. Monitor network performance and manage outages. Develop and maintain detailed network documentation/diagrams. Collaborate with IT and OT teams to provide technical support and troubleshooting issues. Adhere to regulatory reliability standards compliance such as NERC, CIP, & TSA. Additional Responsibilities: Adhere to internal processes related to change management, internal audit, human resources and disaster recovery policies/procedures. Support BHSC IT and BHC goals and objectives. Support on-call rotation schedule and occasional travel as necessary to attend team meetings, training, and support remote system. What Is Required: Level I: Minimum of 1 year experience in network engineering and operations. Level II: Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering and operations. All Levels: Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of network designs, security protocols, software and technologies. Demonstrated in-depth understanding and experience configuring and maintaining networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers / access points, and IOT devices. Experience with core Cisco Routing and Switching equipment and networking technologies including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, IPSEC, DMVPN, SDWAN, VLANs, Trunking, Spanning Tree, vPC, Port Channels, and VXLAN. Knowledge in Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Excellent verbal and written communications skills to develop appropriate technology solutions to business needs. Ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies for improving system security, reliability, performance, scalability or management of network infrastructure systems. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced business environment. This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards. This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time. What Is Desired: CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Technician CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional CompTIA Network+ Certification Experience with industrial networks and SCADA systems in a utility environment.
