Job Title Catering Server

Position Summary
Gettysburg College is seeking a skilled and dynamic Catering Server with bartending knowledge to work full-time in our Catering department. Hours for this position are
generally 34 hours
a week and are varied to include evenings, nights, and weekends.

Reasonable working hours The Catering Server performs the following functions:
Prepare service lines in Atrium Dining and at catered functions, verify menus, and identify allergens for customers Deliver, set up, and break down catered events throughout campus and off-site locations Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including bartending for catered events Clean and sanitize serving lines and counters between services Act as a cashier, fill out transaction sheets, and record customer counts Provide food and beverage service across multiple campus venues and off-site locations
Position reports directly to the Catering Manager and indirectly to all other members of the Dining Service's leadership team.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior food service and bartending experience highly desired. The ability to obtain a Servsafe certification and Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certification is required. A valid driver's license with a favorable driving record as outlined in the College's fleet policy is preferred. The following demonstrated abilities are necessary to complete the tasks of the position: to stand, walk and reach for prolonged periods; to read and follow simple instructions; to work harmoniously with a large variety of individuals; to follow written and oral instructions; to provide excellent customer service; to work when scheduled; to work overtime as required; and to exhibit flexibility by working in other areas of Dining Services when needed.
