Software Engineer
This role involves working with avionics products that are used in various civil and military aircraft, providing essential communication, navigation, and guidance information. The software engineering team is tasked with developing embedded software for these products and creating production test environments. Responsibilities: Manage all phases of embedded software development, from planning and gathering software requirements to allocating resources. Code in C and integrate with systems and hardware, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Write software development plans and document software requirements. Create software designs and develop software code. Develop software test cases and procedures. Essential Skills: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Proficiency with the C programming language. 8+ years of experience in embedded software development. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and working in regulated industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Telecom, or Medical. Understanding of full software lifecycle development. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with military products or military environments is a plus. Having a pilot's license is beneficial. Familiarity with Linux, VX works, RTOS, OpenGL, C++, and Head Up Displays. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Work Environment: The role offers hybrid flexibility with remote work options on Fridays. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sugar Grove, Illinois. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
