Overview
Remote Outsourced Accountant for GovCon clients in a Public Accounting environment. Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entries, FAR and DCAA compliance, job costing, and NetSuite and Unanet systems. This is a remote role serving GovCon clients with opportunities to influence financial health and internal controls. Base pay range

Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations in compliance with GAAP. Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, audit schedules, and cost center reports. Maintain and update job costing reports and conduct cost analysis. Ensure compliance with FAR and DCAA requirements. Prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule. Assist with tax audits and tax returns; support internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls. Contribute to the development of financial strategic goals.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in GovCon. Proficient in accounting software, MS Excel, and related tools. Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, month-end close, FAR, job costing, and DCAA compliance. Strong analytical skills; ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple tasks to deadlines. Professional certifications such as CMA or CGMA are a plus.
