GENERAL SUMMARY
Shift: PRN, day shift
Location: 22101 Moross Rd Detroit, MI 48236
Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Responsibilities include:
Maintaining and operating cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
Positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical factors accurately.
Ordering, preparing, administering, and disposing of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
Ensuring equipment is functioning properly, reporting potential problems or malfunctions, and locking/tagging out equipment if necessary.
Maintaining a clean and orderly department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:
BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire or job transfer. ARC CPR for Professional Rescuers is accepted upon hire but must be renewed as a BLS Provider card from AHA.
One or more of the following:
Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from NMTCB within 12 months of hire or transfer.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from ARRT within 12 months of hire or transfer.
