Network Engineer (Network Routing, Switching, Security and Data Center) (Houston, TX)
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a large, global B2B high-tech company. In this role, you will collaborate with network engineering, architecture, design, and implementation teams. This is a 40-hour-per-week, 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension. The role is on-site in Houston, TX. It is a W2 employee position with Stage 4 Solutions, offering health benefits and a 401K plan. Responsibilities
Design and evaluate network and security systems, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related devices. Develop requirements and adhere to industry standards. Requirements
Extensive knowledge of networking components such as TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and IP routing protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF). Understanding of modern service provider networks and technologies like Ethernet, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, IGMP, STP, 802.1x. Experience with Policy-Based Routing, QoS, wireless standards, NAT, ACLs, Web Security, IPSec, IDS/IPS, and malware prevention. Proficiency in configuring/troubleshooting QOS, VLANs, ACLs, and using tools like Netflow and Solarwinds. Experience with IPv4 and IPv6, network infrastructure, DNS/DHCP, NTP, and security tools. Technical troubleshooting and implementation skills using Infoblox and Bind platforms. Knowledge of HPE Aruba hardware, SDN, SD-WAN, structured cabling, and network facilities. Experience with switches and firewalls from HPE Aruba, 3com, H3C, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Checkpoint. Background in network design, security, device hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and vulnerability assessments. Experience in data center environments with Leaf & Spine architecture and QFX5120/5130 switches. Ability to troubleshoot network issues and document processes effectively.
