Job Summary: In partnership with unit leadership, the Surgical Tech IV Coordinator is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the assigned surgical service(s). They participate in decision making and problem solving to ensure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction. The role requires demonstrating organizing and coordinating skills. As an advanced practitioner, they demonstrate superior knowledge and expert practice while actively working in surgical procedures during scheduled work hours. They serve as a role model and assist the Surgeon, RN, and Anesthesiologist in patient care in the Operating Room. They assist in evaluating and acquiring surgical equipment, instruments, implants, tissue grafts, and supplies. They may participate in or arrange staff in-services and training on new equipment.
Experience and Education:
Minimum of 3 years Surgical Technologist experience required.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education, certification, or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, Military Operating Room Specialist course, or Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent required.
