Performs radiographic, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing disease and injuries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic imaging procedures. Adjusts immobilization devices for optimal views. Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation. Operates imaging equipment, determines exposure factors, and adjusts controls for proper images. Practices radiation protection techniques. Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures. Assists radiologists in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations. Measures and mixes contrast media. Processes images, reviews for quality, and prepares for reading. Performs maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment. Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings. Completes records, logs, and reports. Assists with registration, lab draws, EKGs, and splinting in the ED. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years related experience. Ability to read and interpret medical documents. Math skills: fractions, percentages, ratios. Reasoning skills: problem-solving, interpreting instructions. Computer skills: EMR, PACS. Licenses: AZ State License, AART, BLS, ACLS. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Exposure to radiation, moderate noise level. Must regularly lift/move up to 75 pounds, stand, and walk.
