Position: Senior Digital Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-reliability digital electronics in various applications, including processor boards, FPGA, SOC boards, memory applications (DDR), and high-speed I/O systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to digital hardware architectures and lead the development of innovative electronic solutions, applying their expertise in engineering, problem-solving, and project management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate project and system requirements into hardware architectures. Design and develop instruments including microprocessors, power systems, and analog components. Address complex issues and ensure timely project completion, working collaboratively with technical teams. Build, test, and debug prototypes; prepare documentation for manufacturing and support. Conduct research to implement innovative solutions for next-generation designs. Work with engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective product solutions. Take ownership of solving complex problems with minimal guidance, adapting to evolving requirements. Design and manage electronic architecture independently, providing insights based on simulation results. Identify potential risks at the program/system level and develop mitigation strategies. Lead projects involving multiple engineers, communicating progress and challenges effectively. Mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and constructive feedback. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred). 5-7 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessors, and embedded systems. Strong understanding of design principles and computer architecture. Ability to write detailed design specifications and documentation. Programming skills in embedded systems. Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout design. Expertise in embedded systems integration and debugging. Experience with circuit simulation tools such as HyperLynx and ANSYS. Excellent communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Understanding of engineering theories and practices. Familiarity with Mentor Graphics PCB design tools (preferred). Experience with FPGA/SOC design flows (a plus). Knowledge of design standards for harsh environments (desirable). Active security clearance is strongly preferred; candidates without an active clearance must be able to obtain a secret clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen and locally based. Selected candidate will undergo a background check and must maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
