Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and inspections on cement and diesel trucks, as well as other heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and lifts. You will be responsible for engine repairs, replacements, and rebuilds in compliance with DOT standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and cement trucks.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Execute engine repairs, replacements, and rebuilds.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT repair documentation.
  • Handle hydraulic system maintenance and repairs.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience with diesel engines.
  • Proficiency in engine repair, overhaul, and maintenance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in heavy equipment repair.
  • DOT documentation and writing skills.
  • Experience working on Cummins trucks is heavily preferred.
  • Cement truck experience is highly desirable.

Work Environment

The work environment includes an outdoor covered shop, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The shift is from 11 AM to 8 PM. Travel to other sites may be required if trucks are broken down on the road and cannot return to the Orlando site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
