Maintenance Mechanic

Join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing large-scale industrial machinery in a leading recycling company. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanics to perform vital repairs on a large scrap shredder machine. This role requires working after production shifts, ensuring machinery is ready for the next day's operations.

Location: West Valley City

Type: Direct Placement, Full Time

Pay: $30-33/hr

Schedule: 4:30pm- 2:30am Monday- Friday (occasional Saturday and Sundays)

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on conveyor tracks, rollers, air systems, and gearboxes.
• Conduct thorough cleaning, including cleaning pipes and chiseling out parts stuck in the shredder.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, and perform basic welding tasks.
• Complete the daily maintenance checklist and ensure the machinery is in optimal condition.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably in a heavy industrial or recycling environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery.
• Proficient in operating forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment.
• Basic welding skills (MIG, stick) and ability to perform minor fabrication tasks.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, shoveling, and working in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using a front-end loader, excavator, forklift, skid steer, or scrap handler in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
• Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to walk up several flights of stairs and work at heights above one-story.
• Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles.
• Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions.
• Stable work history.
• Flexibility to work off hours, weekends, and holidays, including overtime and six days a week as required by production.

Work Environment

This is a Permanent position based out of West Valley City, UT.

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $43680.00/yr.
