Primary Purpose of the Role

Designer is responsible for setting up designs for production. They will work directly with pre-press for trapping and plate separation. In addition, this role is to help support style guide driven packaging design. Support creative services and design with image creation as needed. Collaborate with other teams to help maintain our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.

Essential Job Duties Learn about flexographic printing processes such as ink capabilities, file preparation, color separations and trapping. Knowledge with Mac OS systems and Adobe Creative Suite programs. Especially Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. Knowledge with package design. Understands the basic industry terminology for CMYK, Pantone and Spot color usage Knowledge with working on a DAM. (Digital Asset Management) Brandfolder. Handle well rounded designs that will be placed upon production templates Understanding Customer Style Guides and customer expectations, therefore making sure the artwork is functional for pre-press capabilities. Help support and design style guide driven packaging for production and Marketing development. Collaborate with the design team on any unforeseen production problems Supporting the Pre-Production Manager in any other required tasks Create 3D images for displays and retail concepts Required Skills/Abilities

Ability to manage multiple project requests on a daily basis while meeting due dates on a consistent basis Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat Design & Illustration skills are a plus A strong interest in understanding Flexography printing processes Strong knowledge in trapping, separations, usage of Pantone, Spot and Process Colors Must be well versed in design layout and making sure overall design is visually pleasing as well as functional for final approvals. Detail oriented Extremely Organized and able to multi-task many different duties Must work well under pressure and keep track of project time management Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills Able to quickly adapt and make critical decisions with artwork Must have capability to learn quickly and manage projects collaboratively, in a fast-moving department Minimum 2 year Associate Degree in Commercial Art Preferred 4 year BFA Commercial Art preferred
