Position: Chargeback Specialist
Location: New York, NY (Remote)
Salary: $70,000 - $80,00 + Potential Bonus
Large NYC based Fashion conglomerate seeks a Chargeback Specialist to join their Team!
Responsibilities: Review, analyze, and research chargeback claims from retailers (e.g., compliance, shortages, shipping errors, labeling issues). Dispute invalid chargebacks by gathering supporting documentation and submitting responses within required timelines. Maintain organized records of all chargeback activity and resolution efforts. Communicate with sales teams, logistics partners, and customers to investigate chargeback root causes. Identify patterns or recurring issues and recommend process improvements to minimize chargebacks. Reconcile chargeback transactions in the accounting system and assist with reporting and audits. Work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with customer routing and packaging guides. Stay up-to-date with retailer compliance requirements and communicate changes internally. Support the month-end close process by providing accurate chargeback reporting to the accounting team. Maintain accounting of Amazon account (i.e., reconciliation of chargebacks; issuing credit memos; disputing charges; reporting on account) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in chargebacks, accounts receivable, or retail compliance-preferably in fashion, wholesale, or consumer goods industries. Strong understanding of retailer chargeback codes and compliance documentation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills-both written and verbal. Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks). Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Preferred Experience:
Experience with Amazon and other large retail customers (e.g., Costco, Macy's, Walmart, etc.). Familiarity with EDI systems and compliance portals. Background in fashion or apparel wholesale is a plus. Experience with factored receivables is a plus.
