Demonstrates commitment to the vision, core purpose/mission and goals of LRMC, modeling the values and culture. The Credentialing Assistant plays a key role in critical functions of the Medical Staff including: manage incoming communication to the credentialing inbox and other clinical correspondence; management of monthly reappointment fees, to include invoicing and follow up; monitor, track and update expiring licenses & credentials; assist Credentialing Coordinators; including creating files, online verifications, pulling internal reports, etc.

CREDENTIALING INBOX: Review/evaluate all incoming communication to determine appropriate course of action, including: responding directly to the inquiry, obtaining additional documentation and/or information, forwarding to the appropriate party for resolution/response. Incoming communication may include, but is not limited to: Requests, internal and external, for initial application for credentialing; requests for case logs from outside organizations; requests for verification of affiliation for practitioners not found on the online verification tool; requests, internal and external, to update practitioner demographic data; requests for information about credentialing with LRH; requests to initiate delegation audits; etc. EXPIRING LICENSES AND OTHER CREDENTIALS: Monitor expiration of licenses and other credentials and communicate, as needed, with practitioners to ensure critical items do not expire. Verify all licenses and credentials the credentialing software is unable to automate and update the database appropriately. ASSIST CREDENTIALING COORDINATORS: Create files for reappointments; pull OPPE reports for reappointments; generate case logs for reappointment; run online verifications not automated by the credentialing software, as requested; assist with follow up on missing applications/items, as requested. ANNUAL FLU OUTREACH/FOLLOW UP: Annually, follow up with applicable medical staff members to ensure evidence of vaccine or exemption request is received prior to submission deadline. MEETING MINUTES: Capture minutes of all departmental meetings, making them available to the team. APPLICATION FEES: Create and send reappointment invoices each month. Follow up on reappointment application fees until received. Update credentialing database regarding date sent and follow up attempts, as well as when application fees are received. FPPE: Generate case logs and update FPPE tracking logs. CONFIDENTIALITY: Understands and maintains confidentiality of credentialing information and takes steps to ensure security of the remote work environment. Extensive electronic interaction with internal and external customers, including physicians and non-physicians and is able to prioritize incoming information and use critical thinking skills to identify emergent messages and communicate to appropriate stakeholder. Complies with HIPAA standards in all communications. Keeps management apprised of conflicts/problems so that crises are prevented. Other duties as assigned.

Competencies & Skills

Essential:

Types 60wpm. Knowledge of department-specific terminology, policies and procedures. Ability to prioritize and organize workload, meet deadlines, work independently and interdependently within a team. Proficient use of PC and department-specific applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), basic analytical skills, sound judgement, work effectively under stress. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, MD-Staff, Tableau. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Nonessential:
