The Role:
We are seeking a results-driven
IT Security Engineer III
who will play a critical role in advancing our security posture. Your primary responsibility is to maintain and optimize our security tools stack, ensuring a robust and current security position across all platforms. Success in this role requires proven expertise in IT Security best practices, security tools, application security, and cloud/on-premises infrastructure. You will own and deliver high-impact security projects, lead by example, and empower the security team through collaboration and knowledge sharing. Key Performance Objectives: Security Stack Ownership & Optimization Maintain uptime and operational efficiency for the security tools stack (SIEM, EDR, NDR, VM, WAF, firewalls, email security, IAM, etc.). Implement updates and configurations aligned with security leadership objectives within predefined SLAs. Incident and Vulnerability Management Ensure all vulnerabilities are triaged and remediated within policy-defined timelines. Achieve a measurable reduction in security incidents through proactive incident management and root cause analysis. AWS Security Expertise Act as the SME for AWS Security, implementing cloud-specific security measures to align with industry best practices and internal objectives. Demonstrate measurable improvements in cloud security posture quarterly. Project Execution Drive end-to-end security projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of assigned projects annually. Align all initiatives with leadership priorities and compliance mandates. Documentation & Policy Management Maintain accuracy and currency in security documentation, including policies, procedures, and architectural diagrams. Audit/review documentation quarterly and provide actionable insights. Collaboration & Risk Mitigation Collaborate cross-functionally to assess and mitigate risk, reducing identified risks year-over-year. Provide timely and effective security guidance and training to internal teams. Stay ahead of industry trends and recommend security technologies that improve performance or efficiency. Implement at least two new technologies or processes annually that drive measurable security enhancements. Performance Qualifications: Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Experience:
7+ years in IT with 5+ years in IT Security. Proven expertise in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with hands-on security implementation. Certifications:
CISSP or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in security engineering, network security, authentication protocols, cryptography, and compliance frameworks. Soft Skills:
