Job Title: Civil Engineer in Training (EIT)
Department: Public Works
Location: Dallas
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer EIT with a strong foundation in public works principles to join our growing team. This individual will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of public works projects, working collaboratively to produce high-quality designs that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.

The functional areas and responsibilities of a
Civil Engineer in Training
are as follows:
Responsibilities:
Site Design:
Assist in the preparation of site development plans including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility layouts, and erosion and sediment control plans. Technical Calculations:
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, earthwork and volume computations, and other engineering analyses to support project designs. Software Applications:
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, StormCAD), and other relevant design tools. Regulatory Compliance:
Research and apply local, state, and federal regulations and design standards. Project Support:
Prepare permit applications, technical reports, and cost estimates. Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, drafters, and other team members to execute projects efficiently. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Certification:
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification obtained by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works engineering with an emphasis on site design concepts. Software Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software. Knowledge Base:
Strong understanding of site grading, drainage principles, stormwater management, utility design, and relevant regulations. Desired Skills
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Initiative:
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks. Teamwork:
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
