To deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today. As a Registered Nurse at City of Hope's Long Beach, Worsham Clinic, you will provide care to our medical oncology patients. Your primary responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nursing care, assisting patients through their treatment journey, and offering emotional support and education. Nurses at City of Hope play a vital role in improving the quality of life for cancer patients by providing expert care, support, and education throughout their cancer journey, while fostering excellence in patient care and adherence to high-quality standards. This position is ideal for someone with 1 year of experience working with oncology patients who is looking to transition to the outpatient setting. Additional Information: $20,000 Sign-On Bonus Monday - Friday schedule, no holidays or weekends As a successful candidate, you will:
Assess patients' health status Develop and implement care plans Administer chemotherapy and other medications, monitor vital signs and symptoms Provide education and support to patients and their families, coordinate care and follow-up appointments, and help manage side effects and complications from cancer treatment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education programs specific to cancer care. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Qualifications
Your qualifications should include: Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing is highly preferred 0-3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse Valid California Registered Nurse license Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Current and valid ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification Two or more years of experience in a physician's office or hospital One year of oncology and chemotherapy administration experience Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), with EPIC preferred City of Hope employees' pay is based on work experience, qualifications, and work location.
