Performs patient testing and administrative tasks supporting clinical activities in UNCHCS, including high complexity testing in the Flow Cytometry lab for Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology.
Hours Day shift with rotating holidays and on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Investigate equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow issues.
Participate in teams or special projects.
Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, residents, and train new employees; serve as a technical resource.
Perform quality control and equipment maintenance.
Conduct routine and specialized tests, observe reactions, and provide data.
Prepare specimens and reagents as required.
Report results to healthcare providers and discuss findings.
Review test results for accuracy and correct errors promptly.
Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science degree; eligible to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.
Must obtain certification within one year of being exam eligible.
No prior experience required.
Additional Details
Full-time, onsite, day schedule, 40 hours/week.
Salary range: $26.59 - $38.23 per hour, based on experience and internal equity.
Location: Chapel Hill, NC.
Legal employer: UNC Medical Center, Transplant Services Labs.
