SUMMARY This position will provide IT administration for computerized lab equipment. This includes operations for lab communications, instruments, network traffic affecting lab systems, data centers, lab applications, application support, helpdesk, and server and storage management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Interact with Leadership and Team Members to achieve lab project goals Represent stakeholders, translate business needs and technical issues, lead requirement reviews Leads technical assistance and administration efforts for incoming queries and issues related to lab related computer systems, networks, telecommunications, software, and hardware Manage, configure, and administer the IT components of various lab systems, instruments, and services, both GMP and non-GMP Oversee inquiries from lab staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors etc. to provide technical assistance and support Perform database administration, scripting, automation, tuning and debugging, patching, and backup tasks as needed to optimize lab systems Manage maintenance of Lab Systems to ensure systems are kept functional, up-to-date, and secure Write training procedures and manuals per regulatory specifications Cross train team members Control and maintain daily performance metrics of lab related computer systems Lead diagnostic efforts to resolve problems Gain feedback from customers about lab specific network/computer usage Configure and validate secure systems and physical controls, responsive service management to local/global lab systems, and general maintenance of site lab infrastructure to detect security, process, and/or data integrity weakness LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES None. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field, and/or experience with TechLab programming, computer science, engineering, network security, and infrastructure. Three years of experience developing IT technical skills/experience including understanding lab specific GxP needs, services, and instruments. Experience in regulated IT environments (GAMP, NIST, ISO). Experience with LIMS and other lab systems; including, but not limited to, Open Lab, LabVantage, and MasterControl Systems. SKILLS Ability to read and understand common information technology technical literature. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with peers, customers, and management. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply problem solving and best judgement to assigned tasks. Knowledge and ability applying problem-solving Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Basic, and SQL scripting for interactions with lab system backend Senior knowledge of lab infrastructure systems (software and hardware) Ability to troubleshoot complex problems involving both instrument hardware and lab software Expanded Active Directory administration experience Understanding of virtualization software, i.e., VMWare, and its interactions with hardware infrastructure and lab equipment Knowledge and experience with Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows 10 Proficient experience in a networked client-server environment (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) Analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent customer service and communication skills Must be a team player and can multi-task Project management skills Ability to learn new technologies SALARY Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
