FPA is currently seeking a full-time Geotechnical Project Manager for our
Newark, New Jersey office or Wall, NJ office . This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong geotechnical background to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and work on a variety of challenging infrastructure projects across sectors including transportation, commercial, residential, and industrial developments. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting client expectations. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, providing technical advice and strategic guidance. Oversee design and analysis of geotechnical aspects, including foundation design, slope stability, soil mechanics, earth retaining structures, and groundwater management. Supervise and mentor junior engineers, geologists, and technicians, supporting their professional development and adherence to standards. Prepare and review geotechnical investigation reports, feasibility studies, and technical specifications. Ensure quality control, review project deliverables, and provide constructive feedback. Develop project budgets, monitor costs, and track schedules, addressing issues proactively. Support business growth through identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and marketing efforts. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and uphold safety and environmental standards. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline. PE license in New Jersey or ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe. Additional certifications such as Geo-technical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) are a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience, including project management and leadership. Experience with site investigations, foundation design, soil-structure interaction, and remedial solutions. Experience managing multiple projects and client interactions. Strong technical expertise and proficiency with analysis software tools. Proficiency in project management software. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, including overnight stays. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities. Compensation and Benefits
