Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that foster learning, curiosity, and exploration among preschool-aged children.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom atmosphere where preschoolers feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves and learn through play.
- Integrate language-rich activities, storytelling, and early literacy experiences into daily routines to help preschoolers develop communication skills, vocabulary, and a love of reading.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the classroom environment, including materials, equipment, and play areas, to support optimal learning and exploration.
- Establish open and ongoing communication with parents, sharing insights, updates, and progress on their child's development.
Qualifications
- Must meet the requirements to be a lead teacher as approved by the governing state agency.
- This position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the behavioral and developmental stages of children and knowledge of childcare licensing requirements.
- The ability to manage a classroom, including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills. Patience, flexibility.
Essential Functions
- Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all child care regulations, and company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents, and visitors.
- Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative parent board that is updated regularly.
- Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans that are age-appropriate and stimulating in accordance with Celebree's curriculum.
- Manages effective classroom transitions.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
- Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom is appropriately maintained.
- Accurately completes all paperwork, electronic reports, supervision records, and attendance.
- Attends all team meetings, trainings, and school events as requested.
- Provides support and direction to Aides to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
- Provides development, coaching, and training to support Aide development.
- Always presents a positive and professional image, adhering to uniform requirements.
- Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child's development and classroom happenings.
Specific Skills
Certification in CPR & First Aid. Computer skills, familiar with educational software and curriculum.
Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.
