Industrial Diesel Mechanic
A manufacturing company near Jersey Village is seeking an industrial mechanic to join their team on the day shift. The role involves disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting high-precision industrial equipment, documenting findings, determining the scope of repairs, and communicating the materials and supplies needed. The mechanic will read and interpret blueprints, perform repairs, and reassemble the final product. Prior experience in repairing diesel engines, gearboxes, or other high-precision rotating equipment is required.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect high-precision industrial equipment.
- Document findings and determine the scope of repairs.
- Communicate materials and supplies needed for repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints for equipment repair.
- Perform repairs and reassembly of final products.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in gearbox repair or diesel engine repair.
- Experience in assembling or disassembling high-precision parts.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Possession of own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Industrial maintenance repair experience.

Work Environment:
The job is located in a small manufacturing shop specializing in precision bearings and gearboxes. The facility is clean and climate-controlled. The work schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. Typical shifts are 8 hours from 7 AM to 3 PM, 10 hours from 5 AM to 3 PM, and 12 hours from 5 AM to 5 PM. Candidates must be open to working 12-hour shifts as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
