Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. The Diesel Mechanic will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with other team members to deliver high-quality service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical issues with diesel engines through visual inspection, diagnostic tools, and listening for abnormal sounds or vibrations.
  • Perform repairs on diesel engines, including replacing faulty components such as fuel injectors, pistons, gaskets, and valves.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems in diesel-powered vehicles and machinery, including wiring, sensors, and control modules.
  • Utilize a variety of tools and equipment such as wrenches, socket sets, diagnostic scanners, and hoists to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries while working with heavy machinery, hazardous materials, and potentially dangerous equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory to track vehicle and machinery history and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Interact with customers to discuss repair needs, provide cost estimates, and explain recommended maintenance procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in diesel engine technology, diagnostic techniques, and repair methods through training programs, workshops, and industry publications.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, technicians, and support staff to efficiently diagnose and repair diesel engine issues and meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in diesel-powered vehicles and machinery.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
