Maintenance Mechanic

What This Job Involves:

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to work orders for facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems and equipment
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and daily operations
  • Carry out general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and fixing doors
  • Assist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance and repairs, as directed
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as needed
  • Replace lighting and ballasts in assigned areas
  • Clean HVAC coils and replace filters and belts
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

Safety:

  • Complete hazard assessments as necessary
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure safety of all work areas
  • Recognize safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate risks
  • Maintain compliance with all State, County, and City ordinances, codes, and laws
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled
  • Practice defensive driving at all times
  • Safely store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with company policy

Administrative:

  • Submit P-card receipts daily
  • Update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as 360 Facility
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections
  • Escalate problems or issues to customers and managers in a timely manner
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required

Other:

  • Perform any and all other duties and tasks assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical systems
  • 3rd Party Certification
  • Universal EPA CFC Certification
  • Licenses as required by the relevant authority
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Additional technical certifications related to property maintenance

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ft
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving required
  • Must pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening process (if mobile)
  • Ability to work in various weather and site conditions

Location: Albany, NY Salary/Comp: $28 $40/hr

Estimated total compensation for this position: $58,240.00 $83,200.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data
