Clinical Social Worker Float / Full Time

Brigham and Women's Hospital, a nationally ranked academic medical center, is seeking a Clinical Social Worker Float for the BWH Care Continuum. This role offers opportunities for growth through internal continuing education, mentorship, and excellent benefits.

The Float Social Worker plays a crucial role in the care team, supporting patients in various settings including the ED, med-surg, cardio, oncology, neurology, trauma, and OB. This position involves working with high-risk patients and their families to address mental health, resource needs, and care coordination.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessment and intervention for patients and families.
  • Works effectively as part of interdisciplinary health care teams.
  • Coordinates family/team meetings and psychosocial programs.
  • Facilitates the appropriate use of hospital and community resources.
  • Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates expert social work practice and commitment to professional growth.

The Clinical Social Worker reports directly to the assigned Social Work Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program required.
  • Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with relevant clinical experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Competencies:

  • Clinical experience with complex medical and psychiatric problems.
  • Ability to provide rapid clinical assessments and treatment.
  • Advanced crisis intervention skills.
  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Provides clinical care in various settings.
  • Operates 7 days per week with flexible hours.
  • Prepared to work during hospital emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, lifting, and fine manipulation frequently.
  • Constant talking, hearing, and vision requirements.

Pay Range:

$56,992.00 - $82,992.00/Annual
