Position Summary
The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role is critical in supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the financial health of the organization, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing processes and job costing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Develop and maintain job costing systems to track project profitability and manufacturing efficiency.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and production variances.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve cost structures and financial performance.
- Support external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to ownership and senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with job costing and cost accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, family-oriented culture.
