Description: Agile5 Technologies is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Scrum Master to facilitate an agile development team within the SAFe framework, acting as an organizational change agent for Lean-Agile techniques. This role involves guiding the team's progress towards goals, facilitating all Scrum ceremonies, supporting the Product Owner, and actively working to eliminate impediments. The ideal candidate will foster continuous improvement, possess strong communication and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working independently while contributing to a team environment.
Mid-Level Scrum Master Job Duties:
Facilitate for an agile development team within the SAFe framework. Lead the organization and act as a change agent for Lean-Agile techniques, processes, and principles. Help other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate to assist the team in meeting Iteration Objectives. Support and reinforce the team's agreed-upon rules. Facilitate the team's progress toward team goals, continuously challenging the team to improve performance, quality, predictability, and velocity. Lead team efforts in relentless improvement, helping the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitate the team retrospective. Teach problem-solving techniques and help the team become better problem-solvers for themselves. Facilitate all team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective. Support the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team, facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope. Actively address blocking issues and eliminate impediments so that the team can remain focused on achieving Iteration objectives. Protect and communicate with management and outside stakeholders; help protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work. Facilitate preparation and readiness for ART events, assisting the team in preparation for PI Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt. Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret (S) required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying.
Experience Requirements: 4-6 years experience implementing best development practices and standards, mentoring junior practitioners, supporting the entire life cycle, and facilitating software product releases. Must be able to think independently, contribute to the overall effort without much direction, work collaboratively and independently to develop creative solutions, and work well within a small team environment with strong communication skills. DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications required
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, other related discipline, or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Desired Skills / Qualifications: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I), SAFe Practitioner (SP) or SAFe Agilist (SA), Certified Scrum Professional - ScrumMaster (CSP-SM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certifications preferred. The ideal individual will have demonstrated experience leading Agile development teams in Scrum Master roles, expertise in transforming and building end-to-end environments using DevOps to integrate, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and operate multiple systems. Preferred candidates are comfortable working across business and IT domains, can shift between technical analysis and business value discussions, are willing to stay abreast of industry trends, and are proficient with software development tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git..
