Database Administrator, Mid

The Database Administrator, Mid applies laws, policies, directives, and guidance to acquisitions throughout the total life cycle. The Database Administrator, Mid will provide systems engineering (SE) support to assess and oversee the technical requirements, design, development, and implementation of the database systems under the purview of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Responsibilities: Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition by applying a broad and deep set of engineering and database expertise. Analyze various database structures and links and develop singular or multiple databases capable of populating data to meet the contractual needs of the DIA. May be required to perform data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database. Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities. Employ knowledge of client-server and Internet systems architectures. Provide onsite customer support in their SCIF located in Reston, VA, with a minimum of three (3) days per week. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 5+ years of experience with systems engineering support, including requirements definitions, architecture development, and other program support. 5+ years of experience with database development preferred. Possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license. DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level II or III certification required. Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly clearance required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate a broad and deep set of engineering expertise. Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SLDC) is required. Experience with Jira Product Management software is required. Possess significant knowledge and experience with database procedure languages, including SQL, MySQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB. Ability to understand complex database concepts, including the implications of different database designs, and possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system. Ability to create and maintain Extract, Transform, and Load scripts. Strong communication skills (both written and oral), strong customer service, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user, as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary. Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance. Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or as on-call support.
