As a Security Guard - Telecom Patrols in Virginia Beach, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients across industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. This is a Part-Time Security Officer role with access to our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability, helping you build a schedule that fits your needs. You will gain hands-on experience across various industries while contributing to a secure environment.

Position Type: Part Time • Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do

• Use our scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies; respond to emergencies as appropriate
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following established protocols
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns
• Monitor for unusual activity or hazards within the tech and media environment; report findings as required
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and team members
• Document incidents, observations, and activities per Allied Universal and client requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Availability across various days and shifts
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
• A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

• CPR certification is preferred
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred
• A valid Guard Card or security license is preferred
• Customer service experience is preferred
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Background check required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
• Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with laws
• Drug screen required where permitted by law
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only
