Minimum qualifications: PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Four years of people management experience leading a research team. One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories. Preferred qualifications: Experience with Video Processing, 3D Reconstruction, Image Segmentation. Experience with Neural Radiance Fields, Neural Networks, Neural Renderings. As a research scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, our research scientists work on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science, such as machine (and deep) learning, data mining, natural language processing, hardware and software performance analysis, improving compilers for mobile platforms, as well as core search and much more. As a research scientist, you'll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world. In this role, you will lead a team of research scientists and software engineers to advance the real-time neural rendering for Google Beam. You will identify opportunities to improve quality and performance of reconstruction and rendering pipelines using neural networks, the latest generative AI approaches, and large-scale data curation. You will coordinate research efforts from experimental prototypes, through comparative analyses, to mature technologies ready to deploy in a real-time system. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today's leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
