Position Summary

Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, and fasten in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
• NCEER Certified Plus (Preferred).
• Ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, E.M.T., plastic-bond, and P.V.C. conduit.
• Ability to use mechanical and hydraulic benders (2” – 4”) and fabricate and install conduit supports.
• Ability to do wire and cable installation by hand, machine, and in cable trays.
