Job Summary

Responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems, motor control centers, panel boards, and other electrical and mechanical equipment. Capable of assisting with other engineering trades such as mechanical and maintenance technicians.

Accountabilities

• Test and maintain emergency generators and power systems weekly; document all test results.
• Repair and maintain fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
• Perform scheduled tests to comply with JCAHO, DHEC, and other standards; attend training to achieve 90% attendance as required by JCAHO.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; record activities, identify repairs, and recommend changes to PM schedule.
• Repair nurse call systems, surgical lights, automatic door controls, and food service equipment.
• Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures, and complete circuits according to specifications.
• Maintain, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

5 years of electrical experience

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Master or Journeyman License

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of electrical coding requirements
• Participation in professional organizations preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of office equipment (fax, copier)
• Proficient in word processing and mathematical skills
