About the Position

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking a Mechanic. The position requires a willingness to learn and perform a variety of trades and specialty skills in the hangar door sector. These will include, but not be limited to:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and general inspections.


• Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks, forklifts, and heavy machinery.


• Keeps Operations Supervisor informed on the condition of the equipment.


• Conduct safety checks and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.


• Keeps records on the preventative maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.


• Assist with managing inventory and ordering parts needed for repairs.


• Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.


• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and environmental regulations.


• Perform annual DOT inspections.

Qualifications

• The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly


• The ability to respond quickly to sounds


• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces


• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations


• The ability to safely climb ladders


• The ability to work in extreme weather


• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
