The Opportunity
As an engineering manager at Veson Nautical, you will lead two software engineering teams that design and build software for our rapidly growing SaaS platform. We are looking for a candidate with experience managing development teams who is passionate about software engineering and leads by example. Veson Nautical leverages C++, SQL, React and supporting frameworks in our day to day. We run a global deployment across multiple AWS regions with a geographically dispersed user base.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support two development teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Drive architectural decisions and provide technical direction to align with product and business goals.
- Mentor and coach developers, supporting career growth and technical excellence.
- Partner with stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features.
- Contribute to the codebase as needed to unblock teams or support critical initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong technical background: familiarity with C++ is advantageous, but candidates who are language-agnostic and adaptable to our stack are welcome.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, break down user stories, and deliver on timelines.
- Previous experience with large-scale SaaS platforms and/or cloud-based microservice architectures is highly desirable.
