ER RN Job Details - Randallstown, MD Location: Randallstown, Maryland 21133 (Baltimore metro area) Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ED), Primary Stroke Center Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (September 22, 2025 - December 29, 2025) Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020 Employment Type: Travel nursing (locum tenens) Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday Unit Size: 54-bed ED, average 120 patient visits per day Patient Ratios: 1:4-6 (including behavioral health units) Scrubs: Navy Blue ER Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred Community hospital nursing experience required Professional references required Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Ability to float within hospital as needed, within RN scope First-time travel nurses welcome to apply ER RN Responsibilities Provide compassionate, evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ED Manage patient ratios of 1:4-6, including behavioral health units (ratio 1:6) Perform triage, rapid medical screenings, and urgent care evaluations Support critical care needs in rapid evaluation units Administer blood products, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation Care for trauma, neuro-trauma, STEMI, CVA, and other emergency diagnoses Utilize advanced clinical skills: arterial line management, central line care, CPAP/BiPAP, phlebotomy, procedural sedation, ventilator management Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services) Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in required annual stroke CEUs Ready to take the next step in your ER nursing career?
