Senior Frontend Engineer - Growth at Scribd, Inc. We are seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join the Growth Subscription & Retention team. You will lead the design and development of intuitive, performant, and scalable user interfaces that power signup, subscription, and retention experiences. As a Senior Engineer, you will have a significant impact on frontend technical direction, from architecture to implementation, and establish frontend best practices including testing, performance optimization, and maintainable design systems. Stays current with industry trends, frameworks, and tools, and applies them thoughtfully. Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional frontend software development experience. Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks (React strongly preferred). Proven experience building and scaling large-scale, consumer-facing web applications. Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, and responsive design. Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, or similar). Familiarity with backend integration (RESTful APIs, GraphQL a plus). Excellent problem-solving, architectural design, and communication skills. Technical Skills

Experience working on subscription flows, billing, or retention-related user experiences. Familiarity with design systems and component libraries. Exposure to backend technologies (Ruby on Rails, Node) to collaborate effectively across the stack. Knowledge of Growth Engineering domains (signup optimization, user lifecycle engagement). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. Compensation and Location

At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Salary ranges vary by location and level. California: $146,000 to $227,500; other US locations: $120,000 to $216,500; Canada: CAD 152,500 to CAD 202,000. The position is eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
