Overview
Solano County is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking
IT Security Manager
to serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on expert in safeguarding its countywide infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CIO, the IT Security Manager will collaborate closely with peer managers and county departments to implement effective policies, ensure compliance, and lead proactive initiatives that protect both cloud and on-premise systems. Responsibilities Lead a dedicated security team and oversee risk assessments, audits, incident response, disaster recovery, and governance protocols in a complex public sector environment. Collaborate with peer managers and county departments to implement effective policies, ensure compliance, and lead proactive initiatives that protect both cloud and on-premise systems. Provide guidance on cloud and on-premise security, governance, incident response, and system hardening; shape security strategy and policy development. Demonstrate technical proficiency with Network Security, Microsoft Security Stack, Cisco technologies, cloud and endpoint security, SIEM logging tools, and risk governance.
Qualifications
Technically proficient cybersecurity leader with expertise in Network Security, Microsoft Security Stack, and Cisco technologies. Experience with cloud and endpoint security, SIEM logging tools, and risk governance. Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or comparable credentials; demonstrated leadership in complex or multi-site public sector settings.
Compensation
Base pay range: $149,133.87/yr - $181,273.15/yr. Salary: $149,133.87 $181,273.15 Annually DOQ. Application timeline
