We are looking for a passionate, collaborative, and adaptable Group Director, Optimization to join Redbox, our analytics and business intelligence team. This role will lead the design, execution, and advancement of optimization strategies. Sitting at the intersection of our analytics team and our biddable/performance media team, this role is responsible for unlocking measurable growth for clients by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and our proprietary products and solutions. Unlike traditional leadership-only roles, this position is both strategic and hands-on. You will lead the team in collaborating with our biddable team to ideate, design, and deliver optimization solutions across biddable platforms (programmatic, search, and social), while also shaping scalable frameworks and influencing cross-functional teams. You’ll advocate for data-backed decision making, lead automation and testing initiatives, and serve as a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Define the agency’s optimization vision, aligning with the broader Analytics & Data Science strategy. Partner with media planning, biddable media, technology, and product teams to integrate optimization into campaign planning, execution, and measurement. Evangelize the role of optimization across the agency and with clients, highlighting its impact on business outcomes. Optimization
Collaborate with the team to optimize campaigns across biddable platforms (DV360, The Trade Desk, Google Ads, SA360, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter/X, Pinterest, Amazon, Walmart Connect, Instacart). Apply audience segmentation, bid strategies, pacing, and budget allocation to maximize media efficiency (ROAS, CPA, LTV, brand lift). Build and refine testing roadmaps (A/B, multivariate, incrementality, geo tests) and execute them directly in-platform. Leverage predictive modeling, bidding algorithms, and automation in partnership with Data Science to enhance performance. Implement and monitor performance guardrails, pacing checks, and anomaly detection to ensure campaigns deliver consistently. Integrate attribution solutions, MMM, and cross-channel measurement to validate and optimize business outcomes. Deploy and test proprietary products & solutions, providing feedback for ongoing innovation. Client & Business Impact
Serve as a senior point of contact for clients on optimization and performance measurement. Translate complex analytics into clear, compelling stories that connect optimization results to client business objectives. Present insights in a way that highlights what happened, why it matters, and what actions should follow. Provide thought leadership on evolving optimization techniques, automation, and industry best practices. Mentor and coach optimization and analytics professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Build capabilities to scale optimization across multiple clients and verticals. Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on optimization and analytics experience in an agency, consultancy, or ad tech environment. Proven expertise managing campaigns across programmatic (DV360, The Trade Desk), Paid Search (Google Ads, SA360), Paid Social (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X, Pinterest), and retail media (Amazon, Walmart Connect, Instacart). Advanced skills in bid strategy optimization, audience segmentation, pacing/budget management, and multichannel attribution. Hands-on experience with incrementality testing, causal modeling, MMM, and advanced measurement frameworks. Proficiency with data and visualization tools (SQL, Python/R, Power BI, Tableau, Datorama). Familiarity with the ad tech and mar tech ecosystem (DSPs, DMPs, CDPs, attribution and measurement platforms). Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders while remaining executional and detail-oriented. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data into actionable insights and storytelling that inspire client confidence. Salary: $175k-$200k, commensurate with experience.
